It's been awhile since I used the shell command in VB, but I believe you just add the rest of the string after the "asm51.exe" text within the shell. Shell("asm51.exe commandstring", 1). I might be wrong; like I said it's been a long time.

On the other hand, it might be a W2K issue. I know plenty of DOS applications don't work in XP, and that might be the case as well with W2K.
