True, Andy. Many times the information we need for completely legitimate purposes is not found out in the open, but rather on sites that publish the information for less-than-admirable purposes. But that doesn't mean the information isn't useful for legitimate purposes as well.
It goes both ways. When I pull end-of-month statistics on 8052.com I always get a kick out of how many refers to the site come from shady websites that exist for the purpose of obtaining pirated (free) DirectTV. It turns out the smart cards that DirectTV uses as security cards have an embedded 8052-compatible microcontroller and the pirates come here to learn about the 8052. :) Craig Steiner |
