Hi Matthew,
you can use the Xilinx XC9536 (36 macro cells), which is 5V but need minimal 30mA. Then you can upgrade also to the XC9572 (72 macro cells) But I prefer the coolrunners. They are true CMOS and so only some µA needed. E.g. the XCR3032 (32 macro cells) or XCR3064 (64 macro cells). They run at 3.3V but accept 5V inputs. All these are programmable over JTAG or the PC printer port and in the PLCC-44 case. The needed programming software can be downloaded from the Xilinx web. Peter |
