I wouldn't start out at LPCs either, but then again you might end up there :o)
We have no disagreement on the benefits of using IAP devices (I use Cygnal controllers myself), but as we say in the Netherlands: It's no good shooting a mosquito with a cannon....

Looking at Alan's "roadmap" he might need a programmer for other purposes as well (prog. logic, for instance).
