I am using an aduc812 (analog devices) 8051 which has a 11.059Mhz Crystal. I am using it to send midi via the serial port so I need a 12Mhz crystal to get the correct baud of 31.25.
Is it possible to use and external oscillator or should I replace the onboard one?
If I replace the crystal, will I still be able to download via the serial port from the PC with the new crystal speed?
