Maybe I misunderstood your post; I thought you were saying that someone had posted a load of CCITT publications on their site. All the ITU (formerly CCITT) documents are copyright, so that would be a violation. But if they were just creating a reference citing the ITU specs then, no; that wouldn't be a violation. http://www.itu.int/home/copyright/index.html [rant] IMO, it is counterproductive for Standards organisations like the ITU, ANSI, NAMA, EVA, etc, etc to charge for their specs; surely their purpose is to see their standards adopted as widely as possible, and this would be far better served if they made them available free! Some more enlightened organisations, eg ETSI, AES do seem to have realised this. [/rant] |
