#20621 - RE: can 8051 partial failure occur?
I have once encountered such problem, in a CCD chip. This chip had an I2C interface, and I had to interface it to PC COM port, so i used a PIC uC,

Amazingly, the same code routine, when writes to a certain register say(44H), the contents of register 15 would corrupt. The only solution i found was to read Reg. 15, before writing to Reg.44, and the restore the REg.15

The chip manufacturer never replied to me regarding this
