#20720 - RE: How to test a 8051, please Aman
No, Aman, I have never worked at Philips.

From other postings I am sure thet you have realized that support is a very important part of my buying decisions.

I am very impressed with the Philips support and products. How many companies would realize that something of theirs (the WinIsp program) was lagging and, instead of trying to mend it somewhat send money to an independent organization (esacademy) and ask them to do it right (FlashMagic) without insisting on ownership.

Philips never got to revision 's' before they got it right. E. g. when the p89C51Rx2 went from 'f' to 'g' it was not because of a malfunction, it was to make download smoother by a command to make the bootcode time the watchdog out so that a pushbutton/powerdown reset would not be required after upload. Thats is thinking of the customer. When The XA was upgraded to interrupt on xmit buffer 2 empty They sent me 8 handmade bondout chips without any questions although the existing ones would have worked just as well. Thats service.

Now you know why I'm pushing Philips, they have done me right, so I do them right.

Have fun,

Erik
