Yes, There are sevaral '51 RTOS available commercially, check www.cmx.com for one.

This ain't pantyhose, one size does NOT fit all. In some cases a commercial RTOS is the right solution, in others it is not.

As a fairly simple excersise try to build an event driven prioritizing RTOS just based on the soft interrupts in the XA, I did, it was fun.
