Babar, as J. Guy has said, there shouldn't be a problem. In fact if you send a small MCU in a smal package or envelope it probably won't even be noticed by Customs. :)

What I personally am interested in knowing--and haven't been able to get any hard and fast answer from the U.S. Customs website--is the dollar value that you can send into the U.S. via postal service/FedEx before U.S. Customs cares and wants to tax the recepient.

Does anyone know? On several occasions I've had to ship hardware from Mexico to the U.S. Once the declared value was US$25 and in another case it was US$100. U.S. Customs didn't seem to care in either case. I don't know how much NAFTA affected that, though.

But is that a matter of luck, or is there some regulation that says they don't care about items with declared values below some amount? What I hate more about Customs than the actual tax is that uncertainty of how Customs is going to treat something you send. I get the feeling I can send something through Customs on Monday and they don't say a word, but if I send the same item should Customs on Thursday they'll say, "Hey, wait, you owe us $15 in import tarrifs." I wouldn't mind paying the $15--but I hate not knowing ahead of time whether some item is going to be held up in Customs when it flew through the week before...
