The phone company has a central office-CO.
They use 48V batteries. If you live far from the CO your on-hook voltage is probably lower. I've seen 36V-52V in my experiments. So it varies. The off hook voltage probably varies as well. So use a coupling capacitor to remove the dc (now it will vary around 0V)and go from there. |
