Just a conceptual question. Is adding an unsigned operand to a signed one legal? For example, if I have a variable x and I define delta x being signed, how do I check if the new x (=x+delta x) is greater than 255 or less than 0. I tried to go through the basic add instruction condition and I got confused dealing with the -ve signs. (do i test carry flag or ov. and if so how )
