#2280 - RE: 8051 Intel hex Assembler |
I use a free assembly that was programmed in the 1980's. The company that once sold it, made it a free download. I don't know if they still have it free at their web page but its worth a try. I don't use assembler/compilers that require "doggles" installed in the printer port - one more will cause my computer to fall over. heheheh
Here's the quote from the readme file: "The MetaLink 8051 Assembler manual is included in this archive file since we're giving it away as free advertising. " Try finding MetaLink. Its a DOS based assembly, doesn't do linking... but its great. I use my Borland C IDE for editing and merely save the file, click on a Windows ICON and run a batch file that compiles and closes if no errors. If there are any compilation errors, the DOS windows stays open until I acknowledge the error. It closes and I can view the LST file for information. I'll look for their homepage but it is NOT: http://www.metalink.com/ -Jay C. Box |
