#23041 - Does built in I2C have 7 bit addr? |
I'm still working on redesigning a piece of automated test equipment to use a TUSB3210 (8052 based USB device controller with built in I2C master controller). I can't seem to find the 7 bit I2C address of the master controller interface (i.e. assigned by Philips). At the moment I'm thinking that since it doesn't process any slave type requests and since the I2C protocol doesn't include any identification of the current bus master in a communication sequence, maybe it doesn't need one. What has me nervous is that I've already used up all four combos of 10010xx. I've seen some app notes on using a bilateral switch, etc to split SCL and SDA to get around this but I've pretty well used up all my I/O lines.
Q. Anybody using an 8051/8052 plus I2C master controller combo where the master controller interface itself has (or doesn't have) an I2C address. Thanks, Mike |
