Sriharsha if u r seeking to learn the embedded systems then u really do not have to learn all about analog electronics i believe so. i'm not professional embedded engineer but hope to switch to this career if i get a chance in future. what is my opinion is that learn about microcontrollers, software and how how to control things as the sole purpose of uC is the control other things. any machine whcih u want to control has some control points through which u can control it. uC can communicate with digital I/O lines so what it sees on its I/O is digital inputs and outpus. basically when u design a system first u must divide it into parts, so isolate individual parts of the system then design interfaces how to communicate with those parts. so u can get help for any part of the system whcih u can not design yourself. that is what i call team work. so i suggest do not go in details like resisters, capacitors and like that. technology is moving too fast so concentrate on big picture, net is a great palce to find any thing.
