#2533 - Clock problems
Ihave built a bare-bones 8052 BASIC system and I have a few problems with the clock.

I followed the recommended circuit configuration, with an 11MHz crystal connected to pins 18 and 19. The signal generated by the crystal oscillates between approx 2V and 4.5V. Worse yet, the ALE signal, at 1/6th the clock frequency, oscillates between 0V and approx 1.5V. Obviously, that's not enough to trigger the LE pin on the latch.

I checked all the power supply pins and the ground pins (everything OK)

I tried different size capacitors on pins 18 and 19. It seems that I get the largest waveform amplitude when I use 100pF capacitors. The 33pF capacitors give me a slightly smaller amplitude. No matter which capacitors I use, The ALE signal is unchanged (oscillated between 0V and 1.5V)

When I reset the system, the memory address ports are supposed to toggle, as the memory test is performed. They do not (no memory test).

I have tried at least three different 8052BASIC chips with the same results. The problem is not with the chip.

I have tried different frequency crystals (3.5MHz). The amplitude problem still persists.

If anybody has any ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.
