Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this has something to do with smartcards. Right? Bit banging should work up to even higher rates than 49k. That is: if you have a fast controller that has nothing else to do ... Philips have an excellent app. note on a software UART (AN423). The solution I myself have choosen is to build a serial receiver and transmitter in a CPLD, clocked with the device frequency. This still works at speeds in excess of 6 Mbps. Regards, Rob. |
