Are you watching, that the pin out was different to the standard 8051 in PLCC case ?

Maybe, you have connected the MAX232 to P4 instead P3.0 and P3.1 ?

Maybe, you have ordered the version with CAN-bootloader ?

Also in my application, which dont use the ADC, I have connected AREF and AGND to GND.
