erik malund wrote: ------------------------------- "How do you think I acquired the knowledge of where a given piece of information is ? I acquired that by working through 90 plus pages of documentation which has no contents or index." So did I. However, it took a long time and I am still learning. And that was with the benefit of a reasonable prior understanding of assembler and microcontroller architecture. Without that the documentation it is, I am sure, pretty overwhelming. "If, on the way to find some info, the reader pick up the location of some info that (s)he will need at a later time, that would be useful." There is so much information of highly variable quality readily available on the internet that it is often very difficult to find what you actually want. Masses of documentation is of limited use unless you can find the relevant information within it. "I am not trying to be "unhelpful", to the contrary, I am disseminating the method by which I learned." I am sure nobody doubted for a second that you'd read the manual. If you work with the 8051 as your job you need to develop a clear understanding of its peculiarities. This takes a long time. If you are doing a one-off hobby project you do not - and it is useful to be able to ask the experts on a forum for help. Being referred to 90 plus pages of non-indexed documentation is not helpful in this situation. "The longest distance between two points is a shortcut you do not know" Yes, that describes asking a question on this forum very well. |
