#27695 - RE: Writing specifications for a product
Hi Mahmood,

Actually, I was expecting this post from you (my post from stabilized platform was not a wickedness).
Every time when I am starting a new project I’m asking myself “how I can test this thing?” – if I can’t answer I don’t start the job and refuse the contract.

The specs are writing based on standards and client requirements. (You’ll always find a category in which to classify your product and a standard (national - from your country’s standardization department or international). This is the way in which engineers are working (always based on papers). These standards will contain no just requirements but a test method also.

I think that the cheapest way is to find a partner who can do the test for you (I mean the final tests – for product validation). You can build for home tests any in-house made hardware you need (e.g. an electro/pneumatic engine that can help you to characterize your stabilized platform). Some times, this hardware, if it has many particularities, must go to the test partners, e.g. for environmental testing.

After you’ll define the requirements you’ll see if you need some special enclosures/epoxies etc.(First define the requirements and then design)

Best regards,
Nic
