#27824 - RE: Writing specifications for a product |
Hi Mahmood,
Once you decide on specifications, you should look up testing labs to verify that your product meets these specs. Often a third party's testing results are greeted less suspiciously than the developer's own results. And also, they are likely to have the specialized testing equipment, for instance environmental test chambers for temp and humidity, shake tables for vibration testing and so on. They use them all the time, you would only use them infrequently. At one point we tested the shipping crate with our processor in it on a testing facility's shake table. Very impressive to see a 900 pound box with 3/4 inch plywood side flexing wildly as it hits its resonance frequency. (This was a voice coil driven shake table...there were some posts recently about what could be done with voice coils, this would be an extreme example!) Good luck, Dennis |
