Mehmood, it is a very bad and potentially harmful action to do. Imagine if some one like you was trying to fix its phone connection by hand in his home or some worker would have been working on the exchange at that time. May be a person on the other end would have been fried in each of your attempts. Atleast use an isolation transformer to do that.
