I bought a 22.118MHz oscillator
form digi-key.

It was only $0.91 american for each and the price drop for larger orders.
I am using it with a AT89C52.
I am sure you might be able to build one
cheaper, but 91 cents is cheap --
at least I think so

I guess if that is the only part you need
it is not so cheap after shipping.
