I need to fab up a RFID reader to score motorcycle racers comming through a main cheakpoint. The device will read and timetag them to a millisecond for later uploading the data to the master scoring application. Bar codes are used now which are not good in our enviroment.

Botton line, does any one have any experinace with this device, for reliability, readability, and is it worth evaluating? The sales pitch mentions example 8051 code and sounded promising.

I think I'll just buy it and evaluate it.
