Two years ago I have developed the reader. It was fine and I could read/write data from/to tag. But the distance was very small at 125 kHz frequency (about 4 inches). Please look at web-site http://www.emmicroelectronic.com/Line.asp for details. You have raither to use 915 MHz tag to arise the distance and reduce reading time. I can read about 2 meter.
