Some of the modern '51s (such as P89C51Rx2) also output on the reset pin when the puppy bites. This is a wonderful feature when you have one uC in your system, but can lead to problems when using multiple processors. My solution is to insert a schottky diode between each processor reset and the suprevisor. If you want one watchdog timeout to reset the kit and kaboodle use more schottkeys.
