check again your board and solder points... you should have some short-circuit since you're getting shocks putting components in the socket. by the way, I think that your components WERE ok... these indications of short circuit probably will mean that you fried other components too... By the way, other thing to check, your parallel port uses 5V logic or 3.3V logic? The regulator used in the circuit for VCC is a 7805. Even the 74HC series TTL IC's can't recognize a 3.3V as a logical "1" since 3.3V is bellow the 75% (3.5 V) threshold of these devices. I had that issue with a parallel port EPROM programmer. I used a 3.3V zener to do a quick hack in the circuit and get things working. |
