#29530 - RE: programming Motorola\\\'s 68000 controller |
MC68000 is a 32 bit microprocessor, motorola calls it microcomputer unit MPU.
I started off in the mid 80s by the motorola MC68701 and MC68705 8 bit microcontrollers. It was a wonderful thing at the time but I lost touch with them. The MC68HC11 was top of the range at that time. Its nice to train yourself to use many microcontrollers from different vendors. and if you know one family of microcontrollers you can use any other family by just reading the datasheet. I think that motorola and 8052 are very close to each other in terms of simplicity and addressing modes. except that motorola uses linear addressing mode (no paging) But the 8052s are the most popular microcontrollers used in the industry worldwide as I read article in a magazine 2 months ago.
