 		 #29958 - conversion from BCD to binary

I am working on a project and I am giving input to the microcontroller through thumbwheel switches which give output in BCD only and the problem is that the microcontroller only recognizes binary so I need a BCD to binary converter or if there is something that can be done with the programming of the microcontroller some subroutine to do this maybe. Please help me out with this.
