Some applications limit to 16 the number of bytes defined in each line.
For example, I think there is a limit when downloading HEX files to a P89C51RDIN or P89C51RD2. I suppose that limiting the number of bytes per block, the receiver buffer can be smaller and easier to implement by a small system. Alfredo. |
