#30650 - RE: Graphic character in LCD 16x2.cont. |
Using a conventional display with decimal points it would have looked like....
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | C | h | 1 | | | C | h | 2 | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | 1 | 0 | . | 3 | 1 | 4 | . | 9 | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ As you can see it is very bad !! So I devised a scheme to use the programmable characters to make special symbols to make smaller digits in 4x5 pixels with underline to display the 1/10s digits as follows: +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | C | h | 1 | | | C | h | 2 | +---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | 1 | 0 | 3 | | | 1 | 4 | 9 | +---+---+-=-+---+---+---+---+-=-+ (Note on the real display it is MUCH more obvious than I can make it look here). The point is however that it obviously takes a total of 10 of these special small underlined numerals.....but on any given display only 2 are required.....so the software was arranged to download just the two needed each time the display was painted. The symbol of Ch1 always went into the CGRAM locations for Char #0 and the symbol for Ch2 always went into the CGRAM locations for Char #1. Hope this gives you some ideas.... Have Fun!!! Mike Karas I have a graphic picture of the real idea of what this can look like if anyone is interested that I can email to you. MJK |
