Yes, the ProFlash is inexpensive. At about $80, it's one fifth the cost of my Needhams EMP-20. But I'd rather have the Needhams, it programs just about everything, reliably. Does ProFlash offer tech support like Needhams?
All these things affect the total *real* cost of a programmer. Sometimes saving money initially will end up costing you more in the long run. Certainly buying a programmer advertised as Atmel-only leaves no room for real complain when you don't buy Atmel parts. Perhaps the control code within the programmer could be tweeked to make it a little more universal? Dennis |
