The multiprocessor mode is intended for single-master networks, where the slaves only transmit in response to commands from the master - there is therefore no risk of contention for the bus.
In a multi-master setup, you will have to devise some scheme to cope with (or avoid) contention for the bus; ie, to prevent 2 or more masters all transmitting at the same time & corrupting their data! |
