Any recommendation for a 'main' 8052 uC that can programmed _without_ an ultra-violet lamp
Philips P89C51Rx2 or P89C66x are good choices, they erase and program through the serial port using FlashMagic, free from www.esacademy.com. Go to www.semiconductors.com and search on distributors, you will find someone in Sweden selling these chips. My home page has two articles about programming these chips.
Atmel has the T89C51Rx2 and when they get to revison 's' or thereabout, they should work too.
Supposedly Dallas has a ISP chip as well.
