#31634 - Graphics LCD Controller |
I am beginning a new project that will have a graphics type LCD module attached to a Cygnal CY8051F226 part. The module is a 106 x 52 pixel display similar to those you find in many modern digital cell phones. The manufacturer of the module says that the controller chip on the module (note this is a compact COG module with serial interface) is a Samsung KS0724 chip (also known as S6B0724A01). Does anyone have experience and/or code to share regarding the difficulty of getting this display to work properly.
I was hoping to use the SPI port of the Cygnal part to drive the serial interface but it turns out that the data sheet says that the LCD controller can only be clocked serially with a pulse period of 250 nSec. Knowing this and also knowing the considerable speed with which the Cygnal part runs code it may be just as well to bit bang the display interface in software. Please respond if you have any experience with the KS0724. Thanks Mike Karas |
