#31718 - RE: blacklight for uv exposure..
I do this for 1 off boards that are not too complicated. I Got two used tubes from a tanning machine and built a plywood box with glass plates at each end under hinged covers with carpet underlay on them (for insuring intimate contact) and a timer for repeatability. with the two ends available I can cycle two sets of masks per run. I use inkjet on good quality transparency and can get .010 tracks for 1 off boards , I tried laser and found voids and area leaching of ground planes due to the electrostatic transfer methods. the bigest problem is that the presensitised board often has pits and marks on it that etch through on thin tracks. double sided is also possible , but you need to deal with vias and registeration problems early on in the layout ( plate throughs are not practical as the overhead kills you). Using this method I have built up a small home buisness repairing older products that have suffered extensive board damage, but must be repaired.
