My experience with ADCs is that they are generally fairly high impedence, but that for many, having a large series resistor can be a problem. For some, that can be any resistance greater than 600Ohm. I tend to buffer an input with an op amp using the same power supply to reduce the chance of supplying the ADC with an input signal beyond its supply range.
