I agree with Erik & Mahmood. It is just as well to simply have the watch dog casue an RESET and start over. If the code is truly crashed at the time the "watch dog" happens you have to return to a full initialize anyway because RAM, REGISTER, and STACK content cannot be trusted anyway and full initialize is required anyway.
