i don't think using watchdog output as interrupt is that useless.consider a situation with 2 micros.1 shall do the required functioning and other can be used as
standby.when the function node fails to update external WD due to s/w and/or hardware fault the WD shall overflow.this can be used as wakeup signal for the standby micro.
