You'll need to use the IR detector in a linear region, not digital.
I once read an artical on a 'road icing alarm' that used a IR detector in this fashion. The trip point was calibrated using a cookie sheet of Ice. I dont know if it can detect snow, you might get noise that is actually all the snowflakes passing thru the IR detectors field. Good Luck. |
