The stuff I looked at the phytec web site seems like it would be incredibly expensive in production. I saw multi-chip modules that had literally dozens of machined pin connectors on the ends or along the sides. The Cygnal chips fit in very small TQFP surface mount packages from 48 to 100 pins. Actually the newest small parts in the F3xx series have some smaller packages. The application at hand that I previously described has a very small circuit space and so component count is a real issue. I will however go look at the 89C668 chip specifically and see what I think of it as a device. Michael Karas |
