As I said before, you don't need a special UART - any UART which supports 8 data bits + Parity can do it: the 8051's Mode bit (9th bit) is just seen as the Parity bit! As your 8051's only going at 18MHz, I presume that the serial link isn't very fast - so why not just do a software "UART"?? |
