#33653 - Oren & LDO Regulator
The LDO regulator is a fine solution if it is used where the difference of input voltage to output voltage is small. However IF you have big difference then it does not make sense to pay extra money for the LDO type regulator.
Michael

Oren:
The tab on the regulator in the schematic is the metal bolt hole part of the TO-220 regulator package.

Posting pictures on here......
Here are my steps.....
1) I see the schematic in my schematic drawing package. I happen to use Orcad Capture.

2) I use screen capture utility to take a snapshot of the portion of the schematic that I want to save. The utility I use for this is called Kleptomania (which you can find on web with google search. it is shareware). Kleptomania puts snapshot in the Windows clipboard.

3) Next I paste the clipboard into a Corel Paint window. Corel-Paint has a File/New_From_ClipBoard command. Then using Corel I save the file as a .GIF type file. There are many other utilities that you can use also make the GIF file too.

4) Then I upload the .GIF file to my www.8052.com home page file store space. You have to be a registered user here to have a user home page here. It is free however and not hard at all to register. When you setup a home page, Craig, out web master here, gives you 512K of disk space store stuff in. The file upload process is done from the user home page maintenance page. I really find it easy to use...Craig has nice software behind this part of the site.

5) Next as a registered user is is possible to write html tags into message board posts. To show a picture you would make a tag that looks like:
    <img src="">http://www.8052.com/users/mka...>
... you simply type the html tag in as text in the message post. As a registered user there is also a neat preview feature so you can check out your post before you commit it. Michael Karas
