Shouldn't be. Check that int is 16 bit with your compiler though. Very weird if it wasn't and didn't warn you though - would be a bad compiler.

Try tracking it through - what values are TH0, TL0, what result did you get?

Could also look at the assembler to see what is happening.

Maybe the problem is something else - is the timer definitely running? Is the mode right?
