#34390 - RE: Cygnal mods for 5v |
Hi
Contrary to what you people have said, I had noticed problems when I did my development work using a Cygnal kit. On interfacing with 5volts 74HCxxx devices the software was seen to jump spuriously out of the program area and the system used to crash. The same software used to work fine in single step mode. However on changing the interface to 74LS devices and reducing the Vcc for these devices to 3.8V the micro was seen to function without any problem. Can you give some clues in this regard? Now I have a requirement for an 8051 with 4 timers and more than 3 external interrupts. Even though the cygnal 51 fits the requirement, due to the above mentioned issues, I am worried about its suitability on a 5V platform. Thankyou for your time Santhi |
