Jez,
as a British national living in the US I can tell you that the high majority of the
general population here do not wish to go to war either.
Whatever reasons might lead to a seemingly inevitable war consider this - if Sadaam had used his money and revenues to help his own people instead of designing 8051's to control bio/chemical weapons and nuclear technology we would not have reached this scenario.As far as US foreign policies - I'm old enough to remember that is it were not for US intervention then you and I would be writing these posts in extremely good German .
