I don't what to re-invent the wheel with a new IR protcol. I simply have an ongoing need to interface with standard consumer electronics and until all these devices come equiped with a serial comms port (as some are starting to) the IR port is the only option. Nearly everyone has allready got a learing IR remote somewhere in their house I just want a serially controled one.
