There used to be 1/2 euro-card sized boards (I used to get them from RS but tha was 8 years back or so) with different pincount QFP's with all pins routed to 100 mill pith solder pads. Not quite cheap, not compact at all, but if you can't make your own PCB's it's a cheaper option than using adapters. |
