Most 'digital outputs' that are offered on industrial type sensors are either non-standard (I can remember some exotic fieldbusses using superimposed digital information on a standard 4..20 current loop) or owned by consortia that are too expensive to use in small quantities (Hart, Profibus). In any case: simple, straightforward RS-485 is still quite uncommon these days... |
