do you really want to hear the story of my live? ;)

I have to control a gas analyzer, consisting of several functional blocks, each of them to be controlled by its own microcontroller, all of them connected together by CAN. Some of the modules need extended floating point calculations, all of them need to be programmed via CAN. There would only be some single instruments, and if the price of the components would be to much, there would be none.

My first choice was the ADUC812, wich would fit my needs very well, except that it lacks a CAN interface (wich could be added by an external SJA1000 easily). Because of its fucking TQFP package, I can't use it. (Why did they have to cancel the PLCC package?)

My second choice was the P87C591, wich has a CAN interface but no 12 bit analogue I/O. Because I've got only some free port pins, two of them a I2C interface, I'ld like to use i2c peripherals. (But don't like the costs)

My third choice was the CC01, but here I had to face, that it won't work with external memory.

Currently I'm working with the '591, needing only the analogue peripherals...
